              November
                7, 08
              Dear
                Fellow domestic Helpers,
              I
can’t believe it is November already! It’s time to
put away the summer-wear and take out all the long sleeves clothing
for your employer’s family as well as for yourself. I hope
all of you are healthy and happy working with your employer’s
family; nonetheless, it’s really a two-way street if you
want to keep a good relationship with your employer. As long as
you show you care for the employer’s family and fulfill
all your duties and did it well as always; I am sure your employer
will show their appreciation to you from time to time.
              Anyway,
since the weather is getting drier, I have an easy Chinese dessert/sweet
soup recipe which I can share with you so you may prepare for
your employer’s family to keep everybody’s throat
                lubricated:
              Yellow
Pears with White Fungus & one tablespoon of sweet/bitter almond
                seeds – for a 4-5 people family, use about 4 yellow pears(Chinese
duck pears), cut each pear into 4 slices(keep skin on), then cut
off stem and seed area in the middle. Put all pears and almond
seeds in 10 bowls of boiling water. For white fungus – soak
white fungus (about 2-3 pieces) in warm water until soften and
cut off brown parts and also put in boiling water which already
has the pears being put in earlier. Cook with medium fire for
1/2 hour and one hour small fire: then add some rock sugar for
taste and turn off stove to serve. (In case you don’t know
                what is white fungus or you don’t have this ingredient;
you may just cook with the pears and add rock sugar – this
                will do also).
              Lastly,
we do have a lot of requests from employers who are looking for
finished contract helper(s) to care for new born baby, young children
or elderly….if you have friends who are looking for work
in HK; please ask them to apply at our office, we can help to
put the applicants’ video thru the internet, thus can increase
the girls’ chance of getting hire faster. Meanwhile, Mr.
Chan is planning to interview at Sacred Heart Agency- Laoag on
Nov. 18 & 19 and Manila office at Nov. 20, 08; please tell
your friends or relatives if they are interested.
              Have
a great month and Kindest Regards,
                Betty Chan-Pacific Jet Consultants
